Read any of 255 free, interactive eBooks from Capstone available through 8/1/2014. Capstone is generously supporting the "Fizz, Boom, Read" theme for this year's summer reading program by making these titles available for free to our youngest readers. Follow the link above and use the following "fizz" as your login and "boom" as your password to access the titles. You can also watch a YouTube video for pointers on how to use the eBooks. If you do watch the YouTube video, skip to the 0:51 mark to bypass access information not applicable to this free access.
Your Vail Public Library card is the key to accessing over 9,000 Audiobooks, 800 Music Albums, and 4000 movies and television series from Hoopla Digital. Hoopla Digital offerings can stream to a PC or be downloaded to a mobile device. Signing up is easy, to begin, click the link above and choose to 'sign up' (in the upper left side of the page). Read the general information, and find Vail Public Library listed on the next page. Enter your library card number (we don't use a PIN at Vail PL) . Once your library card is validated, Hoopla Digital asks you to create an account using an email + password. Once your account is set up, you can start browsing and borrowing up to 10 items a month.

OneClickdigital offers over 2500 digital audiobooks, including exclusive content from Recorded Books, as well as titles from all major publishers. New titles are added monthly. Most titles are always available. Watch tutorials on all the steps of seting up an account and downloading titles with OneClickDigital.
Download audio books, ebooks, videos and music from Overdrive using your Town of Vail PL library card. Access to the Overdrive platform is shared between 20 Western Slope libraries and our patrons can browse for titles, check out titles, place holds and renew titles all within Overdrive. Vail PL patrons can check out an 5 titles through OverDrive using their library card account number.

eDiscover the Classics with Project Gutenberg
Project Gutenberg is the first and largest single collection of free eBooks with over 36,000 available titles. In 2011 a group of Colorado libraries collected over 400 of Project Gutenberg's most popular eBook and eAudiobook titles and made them available for free through library catalogs.You can read or listen to any of these "E-discover the Classics" books online or download them onto your favorite devices. Access hundreds of these titles from the library catalog or search Project Gutenberg for additional titles.
HathiTrust is a collection of digitized titles made available by a partnership between major research institutions and libraries. Over one million titles are contained in this collection of ebook titles.
Zinio is a collection of magazines available online to Vail Public Library Patrons. Follow the link above to authenicate your Vail Public Library card, and then set up a free account at Zinio to view any of the magazines in our Marmot shared collection. If you have a Zinio account from another ibrary, you can use that account to view Marmot shared titles after your card has been authenticated. Note: if you are new Zinio eMagazines, please read the Zinio Account Creation Instruction document linked below before proceeding; this will ensure you are reading FREE eMagazines from the library.

1. From the main screen, put your finger on the top right corner of the screen and 'swipe' your finger down to bring up the Settings menu. Press: More > Device > Allow installation of Applications (from unknown devices)> select "ON".
2. Download the APK (installer) by clicking on the following link: http://imgs.zinio.com/faq/ZinioReader.2.1.6195.KindleFire.apk
3. To open and install the download, open the browser's menu and click on "Downloads". You should see the Zinio file on this list. Once the download is complete, tap the file and select "install" and then press "Open" when the installation is complete.
4. You're all set! You can find the Zinio installation listed on the apps page of your device under either "Cloud" or "Device" (depending on your installation settings)
5. Just click on the magazine icon in the upper right hand corner of the App and you will be given the option to sign in using your existing email and password. After confirming your account, you will be able to download and read all your favorite magazines on your Kindle Fire HD.
