"It seems to me the book has not just aesthetic values-- the charming little clothy box of the thing, the smell of the glue, even the print, which has its own beauty. But there's something about the sensation of ink on paper that is in some sense a thing, a phenomenon rather than an epiphenomenon. I can't break the association of electric trash with the computer screen. Words on the screen give the sense of being just another passing electronic wriggle."

—John Hoyer Updike (b. 1932) American writer, Rabbit, Run, Rabbit at Rest

The Town of Vail Public Library welcomes Terra Taylor Knudson and her songs and stories about growing up on the Louisiana Bayou. Always fascinated as a child by the stories and characters from the Louisiana Bayou, playwright/performer Terra Taylor Knudson combines fact with original fiction to recreate the whimsical life of a child growing up on the bayou. Complete with anecdotes about the family, the neighbors, Gator Ball and the infamous Voodoo Queen, Marie Laveau, Child of the Bayou brings out the Cajun spice and Mardi Gras charm of life in the French Quarter and down by the Blue Bayou.
