"There are some books that refuse to be written. They stand their ground year after year and will not be persuaded. It isn't because the book is not there and worth being written -- it is only because the right form of the story does not present itself. There is only one right form for a story and if you fail to find that form the story will not tell itself."

—Mark Twain (1835-1910) [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] American author, humorist

Join us at the Vail Library for a fun nature-inspired program to continue our Summer Reading Program on June 18, 2013 with Jackie Clark, HTR from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the library’s Community Room.  Clark is registered with the American Horticultural Therapy Association as a professional horticultural therapist, and has facilitated programs at the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens for over ten years.  Horticultural therapy programs provide the following benefits to participants:  social, cognitive, physical, and emotional as well as relieving stress.  Developmentally disabled, seniors, and the Buddies have been served by the programs, and therapeutic horticulture activities for children such as vegetable and fairy gardening have been popular.
