"Beyond the formative effects of reading on the individuals composing society, the fact that they have read the same books gives them experiences and ideas in common. These constitute a kind of shorthand of ideas which helps make communication quicker and more efficient. That is what we mean when we say figuratively of another person, We speak the same language."

—Charles Scribner, Jr.

Need Help? Book a Librarian

Book an appointment with a Vail Public Library staff member to assist you with getting started downloading eBooks and audio books from the library's website. Though staff are not information technology experts, we can help you with accessing the library's eBook and audiobook collections. When you come for your appointment regarding library downloads, we ask that you:

  • Bring your library card.
  • Bring your laptop and a power cord, applicable for any wire transfers.
  • Bring the device onto which you want to download titles and any connective cords.
  • Any information, error messages, etc. you may have encountered while downloading titles on your own.
  • Know any usernames and passwords related to your device (Amazon login, Adobe ID or Apple ID).

Please note that although we are willing to troubleshoot over the phone, it is very difficult to assist people remotely.
